The 5th South African AIDS Conference will take place at a focal point of Durban's business district, the International Convention Centre Durban.
The theme of this South African AIDS conference is “Leadership, Delivery and Accountability” and will focus on putting to use the existing good data on risk factors for HIV acquisition and the excellent legislation that momentarily fail the people who have AIDS. The meeting will serve as a pause to reflect on the trials of changing the system which have failed despite de passion and funding invested.
As new generations of clinicians, researchers and activists start entering the field, there is a need to inspire them. It is with this in mind, that it has been put together an exciting and diverse programme, with something for everyone, and with a very strong African focus. The Conference committees, the board, and everyone involved has worked very hard to bring forward something special.
