The 19th Congress of the European Academy Of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 6 to 10 October, 2010. This is the first time the EADV is hosted in Sweden and the Local Organising Committee is very proud to organise the event. The Gothenburg 2010 EADV Congress will be organised by The Swedish Society of Dermatology and Venereology. Dermatology and venereology has a more than 100 year old tradition in Sweden. Despite Sweden’s comparatively few inhabitants, Swedish clinical research is of an especially high class. Recently, an investigation revealed that dermatology and venereology are among the specialties in Sweden that are growing in competitiveness.
Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden. It is the largest port in Scandinavia and hosts a number of well known industries such as Volvo, SKF, AstraZeneca etc. Gothenburg and its surroundings attract more and more interest from visitors. Also, the cultural sector is prominent with, for instance, a newly-built opera house at the waterfront and a well-known art museum.
