Each year, the best proposals for Symposia and other featured sessions are selected and then finalised by the Programme Committee. Congress organisers’ aim is to deliver an outstanding programme with the right balance of clinical relevance and scientific quality. The sessions, which involve leading experts in respiratory medicine, but also in other areas, cover the entire spectrum of research and practice in respiratory medicine, from cell and molecular biology, through clinical diagnosis and management to prevention of public health.
This year is truly special as it will be the celebration the 20th anniversary of the ERS. In addition to this special occasion, 2010 is the Year of the Lung. Special scientific and social events are being planned.
The Fira de Barcelona Congress Centre plays a strategic role in the Catalan and Spanish economies as a platform for economic promotion and international projection of exhibitors. It provides excellent and modern facilities, and is easily accessible by public transport.
